  • Melee: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Chanter

Class profiles

Gladiator class art

Melee DPS / Off-tank

Gladiator

The friendliest class in Aion 2 and the one most guides point new players toward. If you want strong damage, real self-sustain and a short rotation that still pays off at max level, start here.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Excellent self-sustain from heal-on-hit passives
  • + Ten multi-target attacks make trash packs melt
  • + Deep hard-CC kit with knockdown and airborne chains

Weaknesses

  • − Strictly melee; relies on Leaping Slam and Rush Strike to stick
  • − Only a handful of skills reach 20m
  • − No party-wide buffs or heals
Templar class art

Tank

Templar

Templar is Aion 2's one dedicated tank, which means guaranteed party invites and a central role in every dungeon. Pick it if you like controlling fights, protecting others and being nearly impossible to kill, and you can live with slower solo clears.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Only dedicated tank, so always in demand for group content
  • + Party-wide shield from Nezekan's Shield
  • + Two pulls plus a Taunt that also forces players

Weaknesses

  • − Low personal damage
  • − Slow solo farming and Abyss clearing
  • − Fewer top Combat Power players than DPS classes
Assassin class art

Melee DPS

Assassin

Assassin has the highest single-target burst in the game and is the PvP pick for players who want to hunt. It is also the hardest class to learn, so choose it if you enjoy positioning, timing and high risk for high reward.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Highest single-target burst in the game
  • + Deep CC kit plus two stealth stigmas and a full-evasion stance
  • + Buff removal and cooldown extension make it a superb duelist

Weaknesses

  • − Very low survivability
  • − Fewest multi-target attacks; weak on trash packs
  • − Back-attack positioning and stack management take time to learn
Ranger class art

Ranged DPS

Ranger

Ranger is the safe, popular ranged pick: long range, lots of control and strong solo play. Choose it if you like kiting, traps and lining up big charged shots from a distance.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Most of the kit reaches 20m; only one skill needs melee range
  • + Plenty of ranged hard CC, including traps
  • + Drill Dart applies a heavy healing reduction

Weaknesses

  • − Low survivability once an enemy closes the gap
  • − Dodge-heavy play makes Stamina a constant concern
  • − Korean players report weaker PvE damage than English lists suggest
Sorcerer class art

Ranged DPS

Sorcerer

Sorcerer brings the best AoE and boss damage in the game and is the most common class among top Combat Power players. Pick it if you want to top damage meters and are willing to learn positioning and cooldown timing on a fragile character.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Top-tier AoE and boss damage from range
  • + The most varied CC, including the only polymorph
  • + Hibernation provides a short full immunity

Weaknesses

  • − Very fragile with no Max HP passive
  • − Relies on charged skills and cooldown alignment
  • − PvP ratings are split between sources
Spiritmaster class art

Ranged DPS / Summoner

Spiritmaster

Spiritmaster is a summoner that can tank, heal and deal damage through its spirits, which makes it the easiest class to solo with. Choose it for relaxed, steady farming and strong PvE damage over time.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Best solo class: Earth Spirit tanks and Wind Spirit heals
  • + Long range, with many skills castable on the move
  • + Strong, stable DoT and AoE damage in PvE

Weaknesses

  • − No movement or escape skill
  • − Spirits die quickly in PvP
  • − No party-wide buffs
Cleric class art

Healer

Cleric

Cleric is the only pure healer and the only class that can resurrect allies mid-fight, which makes it essential for group PvE and organized PvP. Pick it if you enjoy keeping a team alive more than topping damage charts.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Only pure healer and only in-combat resurrection
  • + Party damage toggle and a party tolerance cooldown
  • + Salvation grants a short full immunity

Weaknesses

  • − Slow solo kill speed
  • − Very little hard CC
  • − Smallest share of top Combat Power players
Chanter class art

Support / Buffer

Chanter

Chanter is the strongest party multiplier in Aion 2: mantras, shields, heals and a Combat Speed burst for everyone. Choose it if you like making your group better while still fighting on the front line.

DamageSurvivalMobilitySupportGroupSolo

Strengths

  • + Seven party-wide skills, the most of any class
  • + Power of the Storm speeds up the whole party
  • + Barrier Spell can prevent a wipe

Weaknesses

  • − Lower personal damage than dedicated DPS
  • − Weaker in one-on-one PvP
  • − Busy rotation that mixes damage and support
