How to check if Aion 2 is down
- Look at the maintenance card above. If it's midweek (Wednesday in the US, Wednesday or Thursday morning in Europe), maintenance is the likeliest cause.
- Open the official announcements (Steam news for Aion 2 works well) for extensions or emergency fixes.
- Search r/Aion2 for fresh “servers down” threads to see whether other players in your region are affected.
- Nothing announced? Restart PURPLE or Steam, turn off your VPN, sync your PC clock and try again.
- Getting an error code? Use our device registration fix.
Maintenance pattern on global
Global is only a few days old, and NCSOFT hasn't published a permanent maintenance slot. So far it has landed midweek, on Wednesday in US time zones:

Not a fixed slot yet
Expect it midweek, but don't plan raids around an exact time until NCSOFT announces a regular schedule. Lengths have varied from 1.5 to 3.5 hours.

Server transfers (from October 14)
- Opens October 14, 2026 on global and is free at first. Pricing after the free period hasn't been announced.
- Same faction only. A transfer can't turn an Elyos into an Asmodian or the other way round.
- Advance Access and launch servers are separate. Characters on Advance Access (Founder's Pack) servers can only move to other Advance Access servers, and launch-server characters only to launch servers.
- Cross-server play already exists for dungeons and PvP, so transferring is mostly about playing alongside friends and your legion.
- For reference, KR charges a base of 1,000 Quna per account plus 200 Quna per extra character, and opens transfer windows a week at a time. Global costs aren't confirmed.
Founder's Pack players
Under the transfer rules above, an Advance Access character can't move to a launch server. Moving to a launch server means starting a new character there. Some players also claim you lose the membership time from your pack, but that isn't confirmed.
How to pick a server
- Region first. Pick the region closest to you (Europe, NA West, NA East, Latin America or Asia) for the best ping.
- Faction second. Every server is single-faction, so picking a server is picking a side. See Elyos vs Asmodian.
- Friends and legion third. This matters most, because transfers can't cross factions.
- Mind the pairing. Each server is paired with an enemy-faction server for the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts. NCSOFT can rematch pairings for balance.
- Population isn't published. No official numbers exist, so be wary of sites that claim exact counts.
- Names repeat across regions. “Siel” exists in Europe, NA West, NA East, Latin America and Asia, so always check the region.

The one in your nearest region, on the faction you want, where your friends or legion play. Population isn't published, so don't chase “the biggest server”.

07:00 UTC every day (16:00 server time). The weekly reset is Wednesday at 07:00 UTC.
Are Aion 2 server transfers free?＋
Yes at first. Transfers open October 14, 2026 and are free initially, within the same faction and within the same server group (Advance Access or launch).
Can I move from an early access server to a launch server?＋
No. Advance Access characters can only move to other Advance Access servers, and launch-server characters only to launch servers.
