What is the best Gladiator build in Aion 2?
- PvE tier S: S on game8 and Destructoid with A from MetaBot. Ten multi-target attacks plus lifesteal make it the fastest, safest pack clearer.
- PvP tier S: S from game8 and Destructoid. Long knockdown chains, Blade Toss anti-heal and strong sustain let it win extended brawls.
PvE build
Ruinous Blow Cleave (PvE)
The standard Gladiator setup for dungeons and farming. You stack offensive buffs into one macro, open with Ruinous Blow, then keep Keen Strike rolling to bring Ruinous Blow back faster. Sustain comes from your passives, so every stat goes into damage.
Stat priority
- Attack›
- Cooldown Reduction›
- Critical Hit
Rotation
- 1Pre-buff with Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing before the pull
- 2Close in with Rush Strike
- 3Fire the burst macro: Blade Toss, Zikel's Blessing, Rage Burst, Ruinous Blow
- 4Follow with Overhead Slam while the target is down
- 5Cycle Rending Blow and Keen Strike as filler
- 6Save Wrath Wave for stagger bars on bosses
Core skills & stigmas
Zikel's Blessing
Raises Attack and Accuracy right before your burst.
Blade Toss
Defense shred makes every follow-up hit harder.
Rage Burst
Weakens the target, buffs your damage and enables Overhead Slam.
Wrath Wave
Big stagger tool for boss break phases.
Ruinous Blow
Main damage source and the trigger for Prepare for Battle.
Keen Strike
Filler that cuts Ruinous Blow's cooldown once specialized.
Gear
- ◆Put enhancement into your greatsword first; it drives most of your damage
- ◆Roll Attack and Cooldown Reduction wherever you get a stat choice
- ◆Add Critical Hit once Attack is solid; skip extra defense
- ◆Respec skill levels once you hit level 45
Daevanion focus
- ◆Skill levels: Rending Blow, then Keen Strike, then Ruinous Blow
- ◆Pick up Overhead Slam levels after the core three
- ◆Favor Cooldown Reduction and damage nodes over defensive ones
Tips
- Spam Keen Strike between bursts; it is effectively Ruinous Blow cooldown reduction
- Wrath Wave also lowers enemy attack, so it doubles as a mitigation tool in tough pulls
PvP build
Anti-Heal Bruiser (PvP)
A community-inferred PvP setup built around the stigmas that matter most against players: anti-heal, a panic immunity, and extra lockdown. It trades some raw PvE damage for the tools to stick to a target and survive the counter-burst.
Stat priority
- Attack›
- Critical Hit›
- Accuracy›
- Damage Tolerance
Rotation
- 1Hold Leaping Slam until the target starts creating distance
- 2Open with Blade Toss to apply anti-heal and Defense shred
- 3Knock down with Mocking Blade, then launch with Aerial Snare
- 4Unload Ruinous Blow and Overhead Slam during the lock
- 5Use Defiance or Tenaciousness the moment you get chain-CC'd
Core skills & stigmas
Blade Toss
Ranged Defense shred plus reduced healing on the target.
Tenaciousness
Short full immunity to survive a burst or break a CC chain.
Forced Restraint
Seal effect to shut down a key caster.
Fracturing Rush
Root to stop kiting classes from escaping.
Mocking Blade
Reliable knockdown to start the chain.
Aerial Snare
Extends knockdown into airborne for a longer lock.
Gear
- ◆Keep weapon enhancement as the top priority
- ◆Add Accuracy so your CC and hits actually land on players
- ◆Some Damage Tolerance goes a long way when you are the frontline
Daevanion focus
- ◆Same core skill levels as PvE: Rending Blow, Keen Strike, Ruinous Blow
- ◆Add survivability nodes earlier than you would for PvE
Tips
- CC on players is a percentage chance, not a guarantee, so do not plan a full combo around one proc
- This build is inferred from skill effects rather than a tested top-player setup; adjust as the meta settles
How the Gladiator plays
Gladiator lives in the middle of the pack. Most of your attacks hit up to four targets, lifesteal passives keep your health topped up, and a deep chain of knockdowns and launches lets you lock enemies in place. Everything revolves around the charged Ruinous Blow: land it to grant yourself a big damage and crit buff, then fill with Rending Blow and Keen Strike while Keen Strike chips away at Ruinous Blow's cooldown. The main skill to learn is gap-closer discipline, since you have very few ranged tools.
Strengths
- + Excellent self-sustain from heal-on-hit passives
- + Ten multi-target attacks make trash packs melt
- + Deep hard-CC kit with knockdown and airborne chains
- + Short, forgiving rotation that still scales well
- + Can off-tank and buffs party damage when blocking
Weaknesses
- − Strictly melee; relies on Leaping Slam and Rush Strike to stick
- − Only a handful of skills reach 20m
- − No party-wide buffs or heals

Common beginner mistakes
- 01
Burning Leaping Slam and Rush Strike on the opener instead of saving them for when the target runs
- 02
Pulling without your buffs up
- 03
Stacking defense stats when your passives already provide sustain
- 04
Letting Keen Strike sit unused between bursts
Gladiator FAQ
Is Gladiator good for beginners in Aion 2?+
Yes. Multiple guides and armory-based rankings name it the best beginner class. The rotation is short, the class heals itself, and mistakes are rarely fatal.
Is Gladiator good for solo?+
It is one of the two best solo classes. AoE cleaves clear packs quickly and lifesteal means you rarely stop to rest.
What are the best stigmas for Gladiator?+
For PvE, run Zikel's Blessing, Blade Toss, Rage Burst and Wrath Wave. In PvP, Blade Toss and Tenaciousness are the standouts, with Forced Restraint or Fracturing Rush filling the last slots.
Can Gladiator tank in Aion 2?+
It can off-tank thanks to strong sustain and enmity on its basic attacks, but Templar is the only dedicated tank. Treat Gladiator as a backup tank, not a replacement.
