Gladiator skill priority
Ranked by how much each skill matters at level 45: what you keep on cooldown and level first. Cooldowns are base values from client data, before Cooldown Reduction and specializations.
| # | Skill | Type | Cooldown | What it does for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Active | 45 s | Charged rush and your biggest hit. Grants Prepare for Battle (more damage, crit and status chance), so the whole rotation orbits it. | |
| 2 | Active | – | Main AoE hit on up to four enemies and the first place your skill points go. | |
| 3 | Basic | – | Basic cleave that restores MP. Specialized, it shortens Ruinous Blow's cooldown, so spam it between bursts. | |
| 4 | Stigma | 120 s | +20% Attack and +100 Accuracy for 10 seconds. Fit your whole burst inside it. | |
| 5 | Stigma | 60 s | Raises Combat Speed and cuts MP cost. The stigma tracked top Gladiators register most. | |
| 6 | Stigma | 45 s | Lowers the target's Attack, raises your PvE damage and readies Overhead Slam. | |
| 7 | Active | 5 s | Heavy follow-up that only works on a knocked-down target. | |
| 8 | Stigma | 20 s | 20 m throw that cuts the target's Defense by 30% and the healing it receives. Strong opener and anti-heal. | |
| 9 | Stigma | 90 s | Hits up to four enemies and heals you for part of the damage. Keeps solo pulls safe. | |
| 10 | Stigma | 60 s | Short-range AoE with heavy stagger damage and an Attack debuff. Save it for boss break bars. | |
| 11 | Active | 20 s | Dash in after a dodge with a knockdown chance. Your usual way into a pack. | |
| 12 | Active | 15 s | 20 m leap onto a target. Hold it for enemies that run, not for the opener. | |
| 13 | Active | 20 s | Single-target knockdown that starts your PvP lock chain. | |
| 14 | Active | 45 s | Launches a knocked-down target into the air for 3 seconds to extend the chain. | |
| 15 | Active | – | Extra hit you can only use on Staggered targets. Weave it in during break phases. | |
| 16 | Stigma | 150 s | 3 seconds of immunity to damage and status effects. Your PvP panic button. | |
| 17 | Active | 60 s | Shared skill: breaks stun, knockdown, airborne and similar crowd control, then gives 5 seconds of status immunity. | |
| 18 | Passive | – | Passive that game8 levels right after Keen Strike. | |
| 19 | Passive | – | Passive later in game8's skill-point order. | |
| 20 | Passive | – | Last passive in game8's skill-point order. |

- 1
Rending Blow — Your AoE workhorse; it hits every pack you fight. - 2
Keen Strike — Used more than anything else and feeds Ruinous Blow's cooldown. - 3
Survival Stance — game8's third pick: a passive that keeps you alive without a healer. - 4
Ruinous Blow — The main nuke; levels add damage to every burst. - 5
Overhead Slam — Lands after every knockdown in the burst. - 6
Protection Armor — More passive survival once the damage core is done. - 7
Identify Weakness — Last passive in the order.
Specialization slots
Each active skill opens a specialization slot at skill levels 8, 12 and 20, so you can equip up to three. Skill level 16 adds a fifth option to pick from, not a new slot. Skill points reset for free, so experiment.
Daevanion skill nodes
Board nodes and Arcana raise skill levels too; stigmas are levelled with Stigma Shards instead. The planner below opens with our Gladiator PvE layout loaded, so you can see which skill nodes it takes.

Set from MetaBot's pick-rate table (most registered by tracked top players). game8's build runs Blade Toss and Wrath Wave in place of Lunge Stance and Lifestealing Blade, which is the better pick if your party lacks Defense shred. Slots open at levels 22, 27, 32 and 37. Shards, costs and every class side by side: Aion 2 stigma guide.
PvE vs PvP
PvE
- ◆Pre-buff with Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing before every boss pull, not mid-fight.
- ◆Keep Keen Strike rolling between bursts; it is effectively Ruinous Blow cooldown reduction.
- ◆Hold Wrath Wave for the stagger bar. It also lowers enemy Attack, so it doubles as mitigation on hard pulls.
- ◆Stats: Attack, then Cooldown Reduction, then Critical Hit. Your passives cover sustain.
PvP
- ◆Open with Blade Toss for anti-heal and Defense shred, then Mocking Blade into Aerial Snare for a lock.
- ◆Unload Ruinous Blow and Overhead Slam during the lock.
- ◆Save Leaping Slam for when the target starts kiting, and Defiance or Tenaciousness for the counter-burst.
- ◆Crowd control on players is a chance, not a guarantee; don't plan a whole combo around one proc.
Common skill mistakes
- 01
Burning Leaping Slam and Rush Strike as openers, then having nothing when the target runs.
- 02
Pulling without Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing up.
- 03
Pressing Overhead Slam on a standing target: it only works after a knockdown.
- 04
Putting points into defensive skills; Gladiator already has heal-on-hit sustain.
Gladiator skills FAQ
What skill should I level first on Gladiator in Aion 2?+
Rending Blow, then Keen Strike, then Ruinous Blow. That is game8's level 45 order. Overhead Slam comes after the core three, then the passives Survival Stance, Protection Armor and Identify Weakness.
What is the Gladiator burst macro?+
Blade Toss, Zikel's Blessing, Rage Burst, then Ruinous Blow, followed by Overhead Slam while the target is down. Many players bind the first four to one macro key.
Which stigmas should a Gladiator use?+
Zikel's Blessing, Lunge Stance, Rage Burst and Lifestealing Blade are the most registered among tracked top players. For PvP, swap in Tenaciousness and Wrath Wave. Blade Toss is a strong alternative in groups.
When do specialization slots unlock?+
Each active skill opens a specialization slot at skill levels 8, 12 and 20, so up to three are equipped. Skill level 16 adds a fifth option to choose from but no new slot.
Why does my Overhead Slam not work?+
It only hits knocked-down targets. Use it right after Rage Burst, Mocking Blade or a Rush Strike knockdown.
