Assassin skill priority
Ranked by how much each skill matters at level 45: what you keep on cooldown and level first. Cooldowns are base values from client data, before Cooldown Reduction and specializations.
| # | Skill | Type | Cooldown | What it does for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Active | 5 s | Lights up after you land a crit. AoE hit that restores MP and your main damage source. | |
| 2 | Active | 10 s | 20 m detonation that scales with Insignia stacks on the target (up to five). | |
| 3 | Basic | – | Basic AoE that restores MP. Community guides note a specialization that trims Insignia Explosion's cooldown on hit. | |
| 4 | Stigma | 90 s | Resets Heart Gore and adds 20% of your damage as extra damage for 10 seconds. | |
| 5 | Stigma | 60 s | +20% Combat Speed. More Heart Gores inside the Illusive Clone window. | |
| 6 | Stigma | 60 s | Engraves all five Insignias at once on up to four enemies for a maxed Insignia Explosion. | |
| 7 | Stigma | 45 s | Your hardest-hitting stigma: +30% from behind and lengthens the target's skill cooldowns. | |
| 8 | Active | 20 s | Teleport behind a target within 20 m, hit it and stun it for 3 seconds. The standard opener. | |
| 9 | Active | – | AoE that engraves one Insignia on each target hit. | |
| 10 | Active | 10 s | +30% damage when it lands as a back attack. | |
| 11 | Passive | – | Passive fourth in game8's skill-point order. | |
| 12 | Passive | – | Passive fifth in game8's skill-point order; Assassin damage leans on back attacks. | |
| 13 | Active | 10 s | Hop to the far side of the target with an AoE and a blind chance. | |
| 14 | Active | 20 s | Dash to a stunned target and knock it down. Extends Shadowstrike's stun in PvP. | |
| 15 | Active | 20 s | After a dodge, slip behind a target within 10 m with a blind chance. | |
| 16 | Stigma | 120 s | Guaranteed 3 seconds of airborne on a target with five Insignias. Pairs with Savage Fang. | |
| 17 | Stigma | 120 s | 20 seconds of stealth, out of combat only. Pick your fights in PvP. | |
| 18 | Stigma | 20 s | Briefly evade all incoming damage. | |
| 19 | Active | 60 s | Shared skill: breaks stun, knockdown, airborne and similar crowd control, then gives 5 seconds of status immunity. |

Specialization slots
Each active skill opens a specialization slot at skill levels 8, 12 and 20, so you can equip up to three. Skill level 16 adds a fifth option to pick from, not a new slot. Skill points reset for free, so experiment.
Daevanion skill nodes
Board nodes and Arcana raise skill levels too; stigmas are levelled with Stigma Shards instead. The planner below opens with our Assassin PvE layout loaded, so you can see which skill nodes it takes.

PvE vs PvP
PvE
- ◆Line up Illusive Clone with the boss's vulnerable (stagger) phase.
- ◆Stay behind the boss: Ambush, Rear Smite and Triniel's Dagger all reward back attacks.
- ◆Keep Insignias stacked; an Insignia Explosion at one stack wastes the cooldown.
- ◆Stats: Attack and Critical Hit first; crits are what light up Heart Gore.
PvP
- ◆Use Shadow Walk to choose the fight, then Shadowstrike for a 3-second stun.
- ◆Chain Shadow Fall onto the stunned target to extend the lock.
- ◆Triniel's Dagger lengthens the enemy's cooldowns, so use it before they can answer.
- ◆Low survivability means you need an exit: keep Defiance for the counter-stun.
Common skill mistakes
- 01
Fighting from the front and losing the back-attack bonuses.
- 02
Popping Illusive Clone before Heart Gore is on cooldown, which wastes the reset.
- 03
Detonating Insignia Explosion before the stacks are up.
- 04
Opening with every gap closer and having no escape left.
Assassin skills FAQ
What skill should I level first on Assassin in Aion 2?+
Quick Slice, Heart Gore and Insignia Explosion, then the passives Exploit Weakness and Rear Smite. That is game8's level 45 order; aion2-meta puts Heart Gore first and Savage Roar fourth, so either start works.
What is the Assassin rotation in Aion 2?+
Open with Swift Contract, Illusive Clone, Shadowstrike, Triniel's Dagger and Ambush. Then stack Insignias with Savage Fang, detonate with Insignia Explosion and chain Heart Gore after each crit.
Which stigmas should an Assassin use?+
Illusive Clone, Swift Contract, Savage Fang and Triniel's Dagger. In PvP, swap Shadow Walk in for Savage Fang.
When do specialization slots unlock?+
Each active skill opens a specialization slot at skill levels 8, 12 and 20, so up to three are equipped. Skill level 16 adds a fifth option to choose from but no new slot.
Why isn't Heart Gore lighting up?+
It needs a critical hit first. Raise Critical Hit on gear and keep Swift Contract up so you land more hits per second.
