Where to farm Varian monsters
Varian covers constructs, insectoids and Drakan creatures. These are the Varian pet species on our map for the two launch zones, counted by spawn points. Farm the dense ones to level the family, and the same kills drop yellow crystals once the family is maxed.

How to get Varian crystals, step by step
- Tame Varian pets with our Varian pet map and feed them Pet Souls to raise the family's Insight level.
- Claim every pet collection milestone: each one pays 100 bound wildcard crystals (about 1,700 in total).
- Once Varian is maxed, keep farming Varian monsters; they're reported to drop yellow crystals.
- Top up with the Festival Trade Shop and Substance Morph each week; our farming guide has the caps.
- Spend the crystals on Genus Insight only after the board has stopped gaining slots.
Should you spend wildcards on Varian?
Only if Varian is the family your build needs most. Wildcards are the only way to feed the Special board, which has no field monster drops, so keep a stack for it. For Varian you have a farmable route, so spend yellow crystals first and wildcards second.
The family-drop rule and the lock costs come from one or two English guides and may change with patches. Check the item tooltip in game before you plan around them.
