What to Do With Old Gear in Aion 2: Extract, Inherit, Sync or Sell

Don't vendor old gear in Aion 2. Here's when to extract it for skins, inherit enhancements at +20, use it as Sync material, turn it in or sell it for Kinah.

What should I do with old gear in Aion 2?

Almost never just throw it away. You have five useful options. First, extract (dismantle) every new item at least once. You get materials back, and the item's skin goes into your Closet, whose collection level gives permanent stats. Second, if the old piece is +20 or higher, use Inheritance to move its enhancement level, breakthrough, Soul Binding effects and affixes onto a matching new item. That costs Transfer Stones, so it's only worth it at high enhancement. Third, lower Unique gear makes good Sync material for re-rolling a Soul Binding stat. Fourth, items with a scroll icon can go into Supply Requests for Abyss Points or Enhancement Stones; crafted gear is ideal for this. Finally, tradable items with real demand can be sold on the Market for Kinah. Buying on the Market needs a membership, but selling is still a valid outlet.
  • Extract once per item to unlock its skin
  • Inherit only at +20 or higher
  • Lower Unique gear = Sync material
  • Supply Requests reward Abyss Points / Enhancement Stones

The five things old gear is good for

Your bags will fill up fast in the first weeks, and selling everything to an NPC is the slowest way to clear them. Every option below turns an old item into something useful:

OptionWhat you getBest for
Extract / DismantleMaterials back + the item's skin in your Closet (Closet level gives stats)Every item you haven't extracted before
Inheritance (Transfer)Moves enhancement, breakthrough, Soul Binding effects and affixes to a matching new itemPieces at +20 or higher; costs Transfer Stones
SyncRe-rolls a Soul Binding effect toward the stat you wantLower Unique gear you won't wear again
Supply RequestsAbyss Points or Enhancement StonesItems with the scroll icon, especially crafted gear
Sell on the MarketKinahTradable items other players actually want

Extract first: the Closet is free power

When you extract an item, its look goes into your Closet. The Closet has its own collection level, and that level grants stats. So the first copy of any item is worth more extracted than sold, even if you hate how it looks. You only need to do this once per item. Duplicates can go to the other options.

Inheritance: only worth it at +20

Inheritance (also called Transfer) lets you carry your investment forward. It moves the enhancement level, breakthrough, Soul Binding effects and affixes onto a matching new piece. It isn't free. Transfer Stones are the cost, so the usual rule is to inherit only from gear at +20 or above. Below that, re-enhancing the new item is usually cheaper. Also skip it if you don't care about the old piece's substats. You'd be paying stones to move stats you don't want.

Sync: turn Uniques into better rolls

Unique gear you've outgrown makes good Sync material. Feeding it in lets you re-roll a Soul Binding effect on your current piece, nudging it toward the stat your build needs. Check your class page on Builds for stat priorities before you start rolling.

Supply Requests and the Market

Look for the scroll icon on an item. It means some Supply Request wants it, and turning it in pays Abyss Points or Enhancement Stones. Crafted gear is the best fit, since making it also levels your crafting. If an item is tradable and players want it, the Market turns it into Kinah instead. Remember that buying on the Market requires the Special Quai Membership.

A simple decision order

  1. Never extracted this item before? Extract it for the skin and Closet level.
  2. Is it +20 or higher and do you want its substats? Inherit onto the new piece.
  3. Is it a lower Unique? Keep it as Sync material.
  4. Does it have a scroll icon? Turn it into a Supply Request.
  5. Tradable, in demand, and you already own the skin? Sell it on the Market.

These rules are based on the global client in October 2026. Numbers like Transfer Stone costs aren't published in English yet, so check the in-game preview before confirming.
