How do Arcana and Double Chance work in Aion 2?

Arcana are Aion 2's five-slot card gear: Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell and Mirror. Each card adds a Lord stat, skill levels and a set bonus. Double Chance is a secondary stat found only on the Mirror of Magic card, in the Magic Armor set.

Arcana are equippable cards that sit in five slots of their own: Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell and Mirror. Each card has a grade from Common to Unique, one Empyrean Lord stat (+8 to +20), two fixed secondary stats and a set. Global has 40 cards across two sets, Primal Vigor and Magic Armor. Double Chance is one of the two secondary stats on the Mirror of Magic card, so you only get it by wearing that Mirror. Public guides don't define its exact formula, so we don't quote a percentage. Wear 2 or 4 cards of one set for a bonus: Vigor boosts PvE Attack while your HP is high, and Magic Armor restores MP and adds PvE Defense. Damage dealers usually lean Vigor, while tanks and MP-hungry classes lean Magic.
  • 5 slots: Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell, Mirror
  • 40 cards on global: 2 sets x 5 slots x 4 grades
  • Double Chance appears only on Mirror of Magic
  • Lord stat by grade: +8, +12, +16, +20
  • Data is from global client build 0.0.4387.0 (MetaBot, Oct 6, 2026)

What Arcana are

Arcana are card-style gear pieces that live in their own five slots next to your weapon and armor. They matter for two reasons: they add a stat package, and they raise the level of some of your class skills past the normal cap. The full list of cards is in the Arcana database; this guide explains how the pieces fit together.

  • One card per slot. Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell and Mirror each take only their own card type, so you wear at most five.
  • One Lord stat. Every card carries a stat named after an Empyrean Lord, such as Destruction [Zikel] or Wisdom [Lumiel]. Its value depends only on grade.
  • Two secondary stats. These are fixed per card (for example Combat Speed and Double Resist on the Chalice of Vigor).
  • Skill-level lines. Higher grades roll more lines that add levels to skills from that slot's pool.
  • A set. Each card belongs to Primal Vigor or Magic Armor. Wearing 2 or 4 cards of one set turns on a bonus.

What is Double Chance?

Double Chance is a secondary stat. In the global client data it appears on exactly one card: the Mirror of Magic (Wisdom [Lumiel] Lord stat, with MP Cost Reduction as its other secondary). Every grade of that card carries it, from Common to Unique. No card in the Primal Vigor set has it.

What we can't tell you is the exact effect. The sources we checked list Double Chance on the card but don't define it or give a per-grade value, so we won't quote a percentage. Treat it as a chance-based bonus that is worth more to classes that fire many skills or hits, and check the tooltip on your own card in game.

Don't confuse it with Double Resist

Double Resist is a different secondary stat, found on the Chalice of Vigor. Double Chance (Mirror of Magic) and Double Resist (Chalice of Vigor) sit on different cards in different sets.

Primal Vigor vs Magic Armor

SetCards2-piece bonus4-piece bonus
Primal VigorThe "of Vigor" cards+60 PvE Attack while HP is 70% or higher+150 PvE Attack while HP is 70% or higher (one source)
Magic ArmorThe "of Magic" cardsRestore 1,500 MP when MP drops to 20% or lower (30 s cooldown)+1,000 PvE Defense while MP is 50% or higher (one source)

Because Double Chance is on a Magic Armor card, picking it means committing at least one slot to Magic Armor. A common split for damage dealers is four Vigor cards plus a Bell of Magic for Attack. That build wears no Mirror of Magic, so it has no Double Chance. If you want it, you swap the Mirror and give up the Vigor Mirror's Cooldown Reduction.

Which Arcana should you use?

No one has server-wide Arcana data yet, so these are starting points based on the set bonuses, not proven best-in-slot. Match the skill lines to the core skills in your class build.

RoleStarting setWhy
Damage dealers (melee, ranged)4 Vigor + Bell of MagicVigor gives the PvE Attack bonus while HP stays high; the Magic Bell adds Attack as a secondary.
Tanks4 Magic + Bell of VigorMagic Armor's 4-piece is PvE Defense; the Vigor Bell adds Defense.
Healers and MP-hungry castersMagic Armor, or Vigor if you never drop below 70% HPThe Magic 2-piece restores MP, and the Mirror of Magic cuts MP costs.
Anyone testing Double ChanceSwap in the Mirror of MagicIt is the only card with Double Chance, so test it against Cooldown Reduction on the Vigor Mirror.

Arcana skill levels stack with the nodes on your Daevanion board, so plan both together in the Daevanion board planner. To compare classes before you invest, see the tier list.

How to get and upgrade Arcana

  1. Farm Transcendence. It is the main source, and higher tiers drop better grades. On global, Deus Research Base drops Chalice, Compass and Bell cards, and Shattered Arkanis drops Chalice, Parchment and Mirror cards.
  2. Collect from passes and shops. Daeva Pass rewards include Rare to Unique Arcana, Training Arcana and Mysterious Crystals. The coin shop and attendance rewards also give Training Arcana and crystals.
  3. Craft the slot you need. Transmute lets you pick a set, slot and grade, and optionally lock up to two skill lines. It costs Mysterious Crystals plus Kinah.
  4. Enhance with spare cards or Training Arcana. Enhancement never fails, and each level adds +1 to one random skill line on the card.
  5. Extract cards you don't need into Mysterious Crystals.

Chalice first

The Chalice is the only slot that can roll any of your class skills, so a Chalice with lines on your main damage skill is usually the biggest single upgrade. Mirror of Magic comes later, once you know whether Double Chance suits your class.

Korea/Taiwan data is separate

Korea and Taiwan servers added extra slots and new sets in July and August 2026. Those are not in the global client, and nothing on this page uses them. Everything above is for the global (NA/EU) client.

Frequently asked questions

What is Double Chance in Aion 2?+

It is a secondary stat on the Mirror of Magic Arcana card. The sources we checked list it on the card but don't give an exact formula, so check the in-game tooltip for the effect and value.

Which Arcana has Double Chance?+

Only the Mirror of Magic (Magic Armor set, Wisdom [Lumiel] Lord stat), in every grade from Common to Unique. No Primal Vigor card has it.

What is the difference between Double Chance and Double Resist?+

They are different secondary stats on different cards. Double Chance is on the Mirror of Magic, and Double Resist is on the Chalice of Vigor.

How many Arcana slots are there on global servers?+

Five: Chalice, Parchment, Compass, Bell and Mirror. Korea and Taiwan have more slots, but they are not in the global client yet.

Is Primal Vigor or Magic Armor better?+

For most damage dealers, Primal Vigor, because it adds PvE Attack while HP is 70% or higher. Tanks and casters who run low on MP often prefer Magic Armor. There is no server-wide data yet, so test both.

Can Arcana enhancement fail?+

No. Each enhancement level adds +1 to one random skill line already on the card and +1 item level. A Unique card goes up to +5.

Where is the full list of Arcana cards?+

On the Arcana database page, with a filter for slot, set and grade. It covers all 40 cards in the global client.
